I love horses. I think if I could have picked something to be instead of a stray dog, it would have been a horse. (But not a stray one!)
Mike says that since today is the first Saturday in May, it's time for the world's most famous horse race, the Kentucky Derby, which is also known as "The Run for the Roses." So this song by the late, great Dan Fogelberg is appropriate:
That's really nice, isn't it?

Nice post, Buddy! M sure knows how to pick some winners, especially songs and dogs. How's his record with race horses?
Thanks, y'all!
M's track record at picking race horses isn't that great, except years ago when a horse named Secretariat was running. This year he didn't have a favorite horse, but did have a favorite jockey--a lady named Rosie Napravnik. She rode a horse named Mylute. M said it would be too cool if the first woman jockey to win "The Run for the Roses" was named Rosie.
Well, she didn't win, but she finished fifth out of 19. M says the way Mylute was gaining at the wire, they might have won if it had been a longer race like the Belmont.
